At both the Halloween & Attractions Show in St. Louis and the Midwest Haunters Convention?, one of the most popular art prints I had hanging in my booth (or, at least, the one that started the most conversations) was a drawing I did for a documentary about the children’s book series Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark. Per the request of the producer, this is my take on Stephen Grammell’s artwork for the story “The Thing”. I had a great time doing it and am now selling the original graphite drawing. Do You Have What It Takes to Be the SCARIEST Character at the Midwest Haunters Convention?

For the second year, Sinister Visions will sponsor the Midwest Haunters Convention‘s Scariest Character Contest, a competition that you can only enter by being genuinely ghastly. During MHC’s notorious Saturday Night Monster Masquerade Ball, judges will be watching the costumed party-goers and deciding who among them is the SCARIEST, inviting them to come on stage and compete at around 10:00 pm.

If you’re interested in competing, all you have to do is show up and bring your most monstrous A Game – beauty may be skin deep, but ugly will help you WIN!
